Course Curriculum

EpiPen administration is the process of using an epinephrine autoinjector to treat severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis). The device delivers a pre-measured dose of epinephrine, a life-saving medication that rapidly reverses the symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as swelling, difficulty breathing, and low blood pressure. To use an EpiPen, the user removes the safety cap, places the tip against the outer thigh, and presses firmly to inject the medication. The injection typically takes 3-5 seconds, and the individual should seek emergency medical attention immediately after use.
